This 7×7′ observatory simply does the basics very well indeed. A good size for anyone who doesn’t need a warm room, the 7×7′ observatory is custom-designed for the height of the customer and his equipment to ensure perfect viewing in all directions.
As always, the observatory features our solid external hardwood fire door with 5-lever mortice deadlock for insurance-approved security. Two internal bolts secure the roof to prevent it being lifted or rolling off.
The roof itself is our classic “pent” design (a flat roof with a 50mm slope over it’s length), and as always it is finished with a Firestone EPDM rubber membrane and UPVC edging.
Inside, the observatory features our own custom-height “slim” pier, specially designed for the customer’s Celestron Advanced VX mount. This rises through our brilliant phenolic ply floor which, as you will see in the picture below, can get as muddy as you like without any damage – you simply wipe the non-slip surface clean with a sponge or cloth. It never needs any floor-covering and it doesn’t matter if it gets wet, either.
