The Wedge Observatory
A departure from our standard roll-off roof designs, this observatory incorporates a 3-section sliding roof from Observatorio Astronomico Creinfi
This uniquely designed observatory provided a complete solution for mounting Observatorio Creinfi’s ‘Astronomy Booth’ roof system on a base designed to work in the British climate.
Key to the design was relocatability – to allow for our client’s intention to relocate the observatory in the future, it can be non-destructively disassembled into panel form and transported, and can be easily reassembled by two or more people in less than a day.
3-Panel Sliding Roof
This 3-panel sliding roof is designed and manufactured by Observatorio Astronomico Creinfi in Spain. It is fully motorised and can be wirelessly controlled, or interfaced with any suitable roof control system. We’ve carefully integrated it into a unique observatory wall system that provides the required stiffness and stability for the roof to perform flawlessly.
Composite Cladding
Our cutting-edge composite cladding is manufactured by Durasid in the Netherlands. It is an exceptionally durable product, and due to its light weight it can be pre-installed before the observatory arrives on-site, dramatically cutting installation time and ensuring an even more accurate finish.
UPVC “Shed” Door
Our unique UPVC “Shed” door is designed to provide the traditional look of tongue-and-groove timber whilst accessing all the benefits of UPVC – low maintenance, high strength and PAS-24 certified security. Available in a range of colours, but it certainly looks good in white.
